Join the Central Pines Regional Council on Wednesday, November 12, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM for a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Summit, focused on all things FTZ. This half-day event will convene business leaders, trade specialists, local government staff and elected officials, and economic development professionals to discuss the current global trade climate and explore how FTZ #93 can serve as strategic tool during a time of economic changes.

What is an FTZ? An FTZ is a designated location in the United States where companies can use special customs procedures that help encourage U.S. activity and value added – in competition with foreign alternatives – by allowing delayed or reduced duty payments on foreign merchandise, as well as other savings (trade.gov)

Key agenda items will include:

  • The role of FTZs and how businesses can seek guidance for eligibility, need, and application support!
  • How economic developers and local stakeholders can leverage FTZ #93 to attract news business and industry, while encouraging business retention and expansion.
  • Current trade climate on a regional and national scale.
  • Panelists that include FTZ experts and current FTZ #93 operators.
